LabRat Beauty: Givency Lip Gloss

I had been on the search for the perfect everyday lip gloss for months now. All I wanted was something that I can wear everyday, that was natural and had a tint of color to it, suprisingly, this was very hard to find.  I decided to stop by Sephora to see what options they had. An employee at Sephora approached me and asked me what I was looking for, I tend to always have this lost look on my face so I can see why she asked if I needed help. I started to tell her my dilemma then I noticed her lips, that’s when I stopped in my tracks to ask her what she was wearing. She then took me to the Givenchy section, of course it had to be one of the more expensive lip glosses ($26.50), and showed me the one she was wearing. It was perfect!!! The color I purchased was Elegant nude. She had mixed hers with a lip liner which gave it more color. I decided not to buy the lip liner she wore since it was $30, no thank you, so I got a Sephora brand lip liner color called Nano, color Queen Quartz ($5), Score!!!!

The New Job Fashion Overview

Since I was relocating to Virginia I had to find a new job right away. After actively searching  while in Virginia, a week later I received two offers in one day, SCORE!!! I was so happy to receive two offers and I just wanted to make sure I was making the right decision.

Fast forward to today, and I am going on day two of my new job. I’m sure I made the right decision and I can’t wait for all the new things I am going to learn while I am there. Below are some pics of my work outfits for the first couple of days.

Let’s see what the rest of the week will bring us

Strong and Beautiful Campaign

“What are little girls made of?”  The Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) just launched their “Strong and Beautiful” campaign with this amazing video featuring womens tennis top ranked athletes.

Featured players: Sam Stosur, Ana Ivanovic, Li Na, Caroline Wozniacki, Vera Zvonareva, Serena Williams, Victoria Azarenka & Kim Clijsters.

The video is so simple and powerful and shows the many sides of women through the use of sugar and spice. All women are a concoction  of these two ingredients and it’s what makes us fabulous!  I loved seeing how powerful and strong these women were and how the video shows their beauty and athleticism, makes me want to play tennis again!

The Makeup Change Up

Product of The Week: Clarins

A couple weekends ago I embarked off to Macys to find some new make-up products. I was in search for a foundation and powder that would replace my 3 year obsession with Bare Escentual Minerals. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE Bare minerals, but I was getting bored. I felt that it made my face flaky, but I later realized it was because I was not using moisturizer (duh!). Any who, I got new makeup from Clarins, a highly recommended brand from my mommy, and was so happy with the outcome!

Products purchased:
Baume Beaute Eclair (Gives you that glowing look)
Instant Sun Light Bronzing Powder
Skin Illusion Foundation
Poudre Stop Brilliance Shine Stopper
Truly Matte Hydra Matte Lotion (Moisturizer)
Gel Contour Gel (puffiness and dark circles)

Before

After

These are horrible close up pictures of me, however the make-up got the job done. My face looks more even and softer. It is great because the foundation is so close to my natural skin color I don’t feel like Im wearing make up! What do you think?

I decided to stick with my Bare minerals for daily use and anytime I was going out somewhere nice or had a special occasion I would slap on the Clarins!

PS: I still love you Bare Minerals!

What make-up can’t you live without?

Kate Middleton: A Blushing Bride with A Shrinking Waist

What can I say, it was absolutely magical. There was nothing bad I could say about Kate Middleton and Prince Williams royal wedding. It was a wedding that every girl dreams of when they are young, and realize they really can’t have until they are older, well at least not something so grand.

Grace Kelly and Kate Middleton both wore gowns with similar necklines and white lace sleeves.

Kate looked like British Barbie, with a tiny waist, wearing a Sarah Burton design that was very similar  to Princess Grace (Grace Kelley) of Monacos dress  in 1956 . Kate did not disappoint, she wore minimal jewelry, only wearing a  1936 Cartier halo tiara lent to her by Queen Elizabeth and a pair of earnings by Robinson Pelham. The earrings were made to match her tiara and were a gift from her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton.

I was a little concerned though when I saw a recent picture of her before the wedding. Kate was wearing a black wrap dress while shopping with some friends. She looked to0 skinny and seemed as though she was over stressed from the wedding. I was sad when I saw this picture. Back in November, when the engagement was announced, I thought Kate looked great. She  had meat on her body and had more of an athletic physique. Kate also looked more curvy and seemed to have more color in her face. The image in April shows her slimmer waist, with less boobs and skinnier legs. She even lost the cute cheeks she had during the engagement. Check out Rocky Road to find out more about her recent slim down.

All in all the wedding was grand, but I hope she puts back on those pounds, I miss her cheeks :-(

Do you prefer athletic Kate or frail Kate?
