Getting back on Track with Jamie Eason

Since I have been on a 4 month Hiatus, this is going to be a long one.

Now for some fitness updates! Around July/ August I totally fell off the health/fitness routine and was just consumed with work, that I did not make time for myself. However, towards the end of August I decided to start a new workout routine that I found on Bodybuilding.com, Jamie Eason’s 12 Week LiveFit Trainer.

The program is separated into three phases; each phase focuses on different goals and consists of a 4 week nutrition plan and a daily exercises routine.  I decided to do it because I liked the fact that the there was an exercise routine set up for everyday, focusing on a different muscle.  The eating plan consisted of lots of protein and veggies, which is great because I love that stuff.

The only issue I came across at first was there was no cardio the first month, none, nada, zero, zip! I was timid at first, but then I told myself what the hell let me try something new. After the first month I had dropped inches and gained a lot of muscles.

I am on the last two weeks of Phase 2 and I am freaking out on how strong I am getting. Muscles are popping out and I am becoming much leaner. My husband even said he was more attracted to me, hahaha thanks :-/  I am excited to get into Phase 3 because that is where all the real magic happens. There will be a combination of HIIT and plyometrics routines, and the calorie intake will be restricted, in comparison to Phase 1 and 2.

What has also been a great help is the Facebook page that was created by someone who was doing the routine. There is over 2000 people doing the program and I feel obligated to finish the program strong, not only for me but for them, we give each other motivation. There is a lot of great tips and ideas on the page that helps answer a lot of questions that people may have when doing the program. After awhile everybody pretty much has the same questions when it comes to fitness and nutrition.

Below are the results I have so far, from beginning of Phase 1 to end of Phase 1.

End of Phase 1

Let us see where this program takes me!

Fit Fabulous & Famous: Jordin Sparks

What a body transformation! Ms. Jordin Sparks has recently lost 30 pounds this past year with the help of a personal trainer and a portioned control diet. In a recent bikini tweet pic she compared her suit to fruity pebbles, but I think she just wanted to show off her new Beyonce inspired body to the world, GO GIRL!

“I don’t know why but my bathing suit reminds me of fruity pebbles… Werk what we got.”

Previously Sparks was a model for Torrid, a plus sized line, before losing all her model weight. Sparks was proud of her body and felt that women should embrace their curves. She is definitely singing to a different tune now.

“I love food and I love my curves. I’m very strong-willed and I’m stubborn in that sense to where I’m just like ‘No, I won’t be that way,’” she said. “I definitely do like exercise. I like to eat right. It’s all about being healthy. The stick-thin thing, I’m kind of just like ‘Not gonna do it’ and ‘I couldn’t.’”

Just look at the boost in confidence in the above bikini picture. She is half naked, but she is letting you know that she worked her ass off, literally, and nothing can stop her now! The other picture shows a more modest Sparks, wearing a loose fitted shirt to cover her problem areas and giving a shy smile to the cameras.

Jordin Spark’s was beautiful before, but now she has the confidence and seems as though she on the right path to a healthy and fit lifestyle. Jordin Sparks you are officially Fit Fabulous and Famous!!!

Fitness Recap
Tuesday: Spinning (lower body)
Wednesday: Stairmaster
Saturday: Spinning & Weights (upper body)

I was NOT pleased with the amount of times I worked out this past week. When I try to remember why I skipped out on so many workouts nothing comes to mind :-/  I think for the most part I was lazy. I would wake up in the AM and nothing, I would just turn to my phone and reset my alarm until it was time for me to wake up and get ready for work. What do I do?!!!!!!! Easy, I make sure to go at least 4 times this week. Will it happen? I don’t know. What I do know is that I will try my best and get my ass in gear so I can make my goal.

5.1-5.7 Goals
Go to the gym at least 4 times this week
Do P90x Yoga at least one day
Stretch out after each workout

Wish me luck!

What are your workout goals for this week?

Active at any Age

This past Sunday I went to my husbands baseball game and I was amazed to see these men, ranging from 25 to 55, playing baseball and staying active. It was great to see all these guys get out of the house and play sports. Many men, especially  older men, start to get lazy as they get older and would rather sit on a couch and drink all day. I was happy to see my husband and all his teammates have that competitive spirit and really put their all into the game. In the end they lost the game, but they didn’t let their spirits down and they amped each other up for the next game. There are so many sports that adults can get into, but they just need to look online and find local sports clubs around them. Since I am moving to VA soon I started going onto Meetup.com to find different outdoor activities

Lady Gaga Lover

This is just one more reason why I adore Lady Gaga. In a recent article from Bazaar magazine Gaga was quoted saying

“I have never had plastic surgery, and there are many pop singers who have. I think that promoting insecurity in the form of plastic surgery is infinitely more harmful than an artistic expression related to body modification.”

This is something that I indirectly feel about women who have plastic surgery, but I never said out loud. Aging is a part of life and we have to love ourselves at every age. Every wrinkle tells a story and embodies who we are. Yes, there are alot of women who get surgery to overcome insecurities, however ultimately they need to overcome it mentally and spiritually. They need to love themselves first and understand we were given these bodies for a reason, that we are individually crafted to look different and have imperfections. I think when you truly love yourself for who you are then you can entertain the idea fo surgery. Many women have surgery without really knowing who they are and loving themselves first. A lot of times women are so competitive and threatened by other women that they try to out-do each other. If you’re going to have surgery do it for the RIGHT reason and not to look better than your next-door neighbor. Sometimes I do not understand why everyone wants to look the same. Why everyone wants the same nose, the same round perky boobs, the same cheeks, why can’t we appreciate the flaws? Who’s to say that one day I will have plastic surgery, but the first thing I will do is find the reason why  I want to do it and make sure it is not for superficial reasons.

Lady Gaga continues talking in the article about fame, fashion and the reasons behind her latest facial accessories,  the horns.

PS. So sad I missed her concert last night at the AA Arena :-( Im sure it was Gagalicious!
