Fitness Recap 5.2-5.8

5.1-5.7 Goals
Go to the gym at least 4 times this week: FAILED  (It was that time of the month and it was hard to get motivated to do anything)
Do P90x Yoga at least one day: FAILED
Stretch out after each workout: DONE!!!! YAYA!!!

Nutrition was not a goal for this week, however for this week it is going to be a major focus. I had a few days off from work and I took full advantage of the dinner dates with my hubby. We went out to eat Thursday, Friday, Saturday and had a huge brunch Sunday for Mothers Day. As you can see I did not say night after each day because we pretty much ate out for all meals except breakfast, UGH!

So what are my goals for this upcoming week?

5.8-5.14 Goals
Go to the gym at least 5 times this week
Eat clean (eat out one night and no cheating during week (cheating is random eating and nibbling on sweets)
Stretch out after each workout
P90x Yoga
Weights 3x this week & Nike Training 2x this week + cardio all five days

What are your goals this week?

Fit Fabulous & Famous: Jordin Sparks

What a body transformation! Ms. Jordin Sparks has recently lost 30 pounds this past year with the help of a personal trainer and a portioned control diet. In a recent bikini tweet pic she compared her suit to fruity pebbles, but I think she just wanted to show off her new Beyonce inspired body to the world, GO GIRL!

“I don’t know why but my bathing suit reminds me of fruity pebbles… Werk what we got.”

Previously Sparks was a model for Torrid, a plus sized line, before losing all her model weight. Sparks was proud of her body and felt that women should embrace their curves. She is definitely singing to a different tune now.

“I love food and I love my curves. I’m very strong-willed and I’m stubborn in that sense to where I’m just like ‘No, I won’t be that way,’” she said. “I definitely do like exercise. I like to eat right. It’s all about being healthy. The stick-thin thing, I’m kind of just like ‘Not gonna do it’ and ‘I couldn’t.’”

Just look at the boost in confidence in the above bikini picture. She is half naked, but she is letting you know that she worked her ass off, literally, and nothing can stop her now! The other picture shows a more modest Sparks, wearing a loose fitted shirt to cover her problem areas and giving a shy smile to the cameras.

Jordin Spark’s was beautiful before, but now she has the confidence and seems as though she on the right path to a healthy and fit lifestyle. Jordin Sparks you are officially Fit Fabulous and Famous!!!

Smoothie Mayhem

Ingredients:

Nectar Sweets Whey Protein
8 oz water
handful of strawberries
tablespoon of blueberries
1/2c 3/4c ice

Protein is a great supplement to incorporate into your post-workout drink, that many forget to do. Consuming protein after exercise will help repair muscles used during exercise and assist in providing a more lean physique.

This is just one way to make an AWESOME smoothie. There are so many ways to make a yummy smoothie that it is impossible to ever get bored.

What are some of your favorite smoothie recipes?

Back in the Game

Can I just say it is always great when you fall and you are able to pick yourself back up again. I have been reading through some of my favorite health blogs and it seems these past few months have been rough for ALL of us. But the true test of ones dedication to their healthy lifestyle is being able to pick themselves back up again.

Believe me it is rough. The past month has been a struggle, trying getting myself back in my old routine of daily exercise and consistent healthy eating habits. Around day two and three I would just give up and feel sorry for myself. Thankfully, this past week I have been able to pick myself back up again and get myself going. I tried to think about what helped me get back in the game and a few things came to mind.

See Below:

1.Reading health blogs: Reading other blogs helped me realte to other women.

2. Observing how my body feels: When I start feeling groggy and sleepy all the time I know it has to do with the quality of food that I am eating and me not going to the gym.

3. Clothes: When my pants start to feel a little tight that is usually when I pick myself up real quick.

4. Sadness: When I start to feel sad and almost depressed I know alot of it has to do with my Health. Being healthy for me is meditative, I feel a sense of balance.

These are just a few things, but I am sure there is more.

So those who are feeling down and out, find what works for you and make sure you write down and place it somewhere where you can see it everyday for constant motivation.
